964 Speedster
911 (964) Speedster
Interior
The cabin follows the Speedster’s lightweight philosophy, with Recaro bucket seats trimmed in leather and minimal interior equipment.
The rear seats are removed, replaced by a simple carpeted storage area behind the seats.
To reduce weight, the door handles are replaced by small fabric pull straps, used to open the doors from the inside. The sun visors are extremely small, another detail characteristic of the Speedster design.
This example retains the standard Speedster configuration, including the bucket seats rather than the optional electric comfort seats. It was originally delivered without a radio, consistent with the model’s minimalist concept.
The car is also equipped with air conditioning and driver/passenger airbags.

Engine and Transmission
Power comes from the 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six, producing 250 hp, shared with the 964 Carrera.
The 964 generation introduced major technical changes compared with the previous G-series, with approximately 85% of components redesigned. It was the first 911 to feature coil-spring suspension replacing the traditional torsion bars, as well as power steering.
This example is fitted with the 4-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, allowing manual gear selection through the gear lever.

Did you know ?
Because of its minimalist roof and low windshield, Porsche warned Speedster buyers that the car might not be perfectly watertight. In some cases, customers even had to acknowledge this when purchasing the car, reinforcing the model’s uncompromising design.
